Monitoring VoIP and network quality is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, VoIP & Network Quality Manager (VNQM). Hybrid Cloud Observability and VNQM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

These release notes describe new features, improvements, and fixed issues in VoIP and Network Quality Manager 2022.3. They also provide information about upgrades and describe workarounds for known issues.

New features and improvements in VNQM 2022.3

VNQM 2022.3 offers new features and improvements compared to previous releases of VNQM.

2022.3 brings VNQM over to the new SolarWinds Platform. In addition, VNQM is now installed with the new SolarWinds Installer.

How to upgrade

Use the SolarWinds Installer to upgrade your entire SolarWinds Platform deployment (all SolarWinds Platform products and any scalability engines) to the current versions.

You must be on VNQM 2020.2.1 or later to upgrade to VNQM 2022.3. If you are on VNQM 2020.2 or earlier, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2022.3.

You can upgrade your entire SolarWinds Platform deployment from the My Deployment page. Downloading the SolarWinds Installer is no longer necessary.

If you are upgrading from an earlier version, use this topic to plan and implement an upgrade to the current version of VNQM.

As VNQM now runs on the SolarWinds Platform, VNQM 2022.3 contains all of the fixed issues from the previous SolarWinds Platform 2022.2 release as well as the new SolarWinds Platform 2022.3 release.

Avaya Call Managers might not display calls

Issue: After upgrading to VNQM 2022.3, VNQM doesn't display data for Avaya Call Manager devices. Data for Registered/Unregistered Gateways on the VoIP Call Manager view is also missing.

Work-around: Currently, there is no work-around for this issue. Watch your customer portal account for the release of Hybrid Cloud Observability 2022.3.1 in the coming weeks.

End-of-Engineering (EoE) - Service releases, bug fixes, workarounds, and service packs for VoIP & Network Quality Manager 2019.4 will no longer be supported by SolarWinds.

August 26, 2023:

End-of-Life - SolarWinds will no longer provide technical support for VoIP & Network Quality Manager 2019.4.

August 26, 2022:

Deprecation notice

This version of VoIP and Network Quality Manager deprecates the following platforms and features.

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features.

Browser support All versions of Internet Explorer will become unsupported in a future release. Some pages are not compatible with IE 11. Do not enable Enterprise Mode in IE 11. It is not supported.
