Monitoring VoIP and network quality is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, VoIP & Network Quality Manager (VNQM). Hybrid Cloud Observability and VNQM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

VNQM 2023.1 release notes

Release date: February 15, 2023

These release notes describe new features, improvements, and fixed issues in VoIP and Network Quality Manager 2023.1. They also provide information about upgrades and describe workarounds for known issues.

New features and improvements in VNQM 2023.1

VNQM 2023.1 offers the following improvement compared to previous releases of VNQM:

  • The upgrade process has been improved to ensure a smooth upgrade to VNQM 2023.1 from a previously evaluated and disabled version of VNQM.

VNQM 2023.1 runs on SolarWinds Platform 2023.1. See also the SolarWinds Platform 2023.1 Release Notes.

For information about installing VoIP and Network Quality Manager, see the SolarWinds Installer.

How to upgrade

Go to Settings > My Deployment to initiate the upgrade. The SolarWinds Installer upgrades your entire SolarWinds Platform deployment (all SolarWinds Platform products and any scalability engines).

You must be on VNQM 2020.2.1 or later to upgrade to VNQM 2023.1. If you are on VNQM 2020.2 or earlier, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2023.1.

As VNQM now runs on the SolarWinds Platform, VNQM 2023.1 contains all of the fixed issues from the previous SolarWinds Platform releases as well as the new SolarWinds Platform 2023.1 Release.

VNQM 2023.1 fixes the following issues.

Deprecation notice

This version of VoIP and Network Quality Manager deprecates the following platforms and features.

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features.

Browser support All versions of Internet Explorer will become unsupported in a future release. Some pages are not compatible with IE 11. Do not enable Enterprise Mode in IE 11. It is not supported.
