Introduction to VNQM

VoIP and Network Quality Manager (VNQM) offers an easy-to-use, scalable Network Service Assurance network monitoring solution that integrates seamlessly with other SolarWinds products on the SolarWinds Platform.

VoIP and Network Quality Manager runs on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform. See the SolarWinds Platform Product Guide to learn about common features, such as adding devices, managing users, customizing your deployment, or viewing monitored devices on maps.

How VNQM works

VoIP and Network Quality Manager collects Network Service Assurance-specific data and provides presentation tools, dashboard views that contain tables, graphs, and charts, that enable Network Service Assurance network monitoring and real-time status reporting.

For more information, see How SolarWinds VNQM works.

Configure VNQM

VNQM uses a wizard-based application to guide you through the configuration process in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console. You will add your devices, define what you are going to monitor, and specify how often you want to poll data from your devices.

Once configured, you can change your settings any time to further customize VoIP and Network Quality Manager for your network.

To begin, see Configure SolarWinds VNQM.

Use VNQM

VNQM opens in a web browser and displays performance metrics in two basic types of customizable views containing resources.

Available views include summary views, showing details on all nodes and operations managed by VNQM, and detail views, showing traffic information about individual objects.

You can simplify network monitoring by customizing charts and properties, creating alerts, using reports to extract data from your database, variables, and more.

For more basic tasks, see Use SolarWinds VNQM.
