Monitoring users, devices, and ports is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, User Device Tracker (UDT). Hybrid Cloud Observability and UDT are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

Endpoint Details

This widget shows the following information about the selected endpoint:

Management Click Device on white list to open the Manage White List page andmark this device as safe.
Display type The method used for identifying this endpoint. For example, DNS Address.
Display name The endpoint name as displayed.
Last Seen The date and time this endpoint was last polled on the network. If still present this will say CURRENT.
First Seen The date and time this endpoint was first polled on the network.
Latest Hostname The current or most recent hostname associated with this endpoint. Click to open the Device Tracker Endpoint Details page.
Latest IP Address The current or most recent IP Address associated with this endpoint. Click to open the Device Tracker Endpoint Details page.
Latest MAC Address The current or most recent MAC address associated with this endpoint. Click to open the Device Tracker Endpoint Details page.
Vendor The vendor for this device.
  • Click Device on White List to open the Manage White List page and test the device against the inclusion rules.

IPAM Details

If UDT and IP Address Manager (IPAM) are integrated, this widget can also show the following information for this endpoint. This information can only be edited in IPAM.

Subnet The subnet that contains this endpoint. Click to open the IPAM Manage Subnets & IP Address page, with this IP address highlighted.
Mask The mask being used with this subnet. This is used to separate the IP address into network and host addresses or network, subnet and host address. For example, 255.255.255.0, which is the most commonly used subnet mask.
Type The type of IP address. This can be static or dynamic.
Status The status of the IP Address. See IPAM status icons.
IP The IP address for this endpoint. Click to open the IPAM IP Address Details page for this IP address.

If you receive a message stating IPAM Details not Available in UDT, verify the following:

  • The endpoint is being monitored by UDT
  • The IP-MAC pair are directly connected to the device
  • The IP address is being managed by IPAM
  • The subnet and device are being polled successfully
  • There are proper permissions set to view the device and subnet
