File Properties Task

Task Factory File Properties Task Icon The File Properties Task is used to read the properties of a file and set package variable values based on the settings provided.

Note:  The Compressed property under Operational Data determines if a file is using NTFS compression.
Option Description
Task Settings
  • Source path is a - Select either Variable or Connection Manager.
  • Select Variable - Available if the source path is a variable. The drop down list populates with all the string variables in the package.
  • Select Connection Manager - Available if the source path is a connection manager. The drop down list populates with all of the File Connection Managers in the package.
Properties Grid The properties grid is used to assign file properties that populate during execution. To set a value, select the right side of the grid to open the drop down menu with a list of variables or the option to create a new variable.
