Deploy SEM on Nutanix

Use the following information to deploy Security Event Manager (SEM) on Nutanix.

1. Go to VM > Table and click Create VM.

   

2. Enter the name of your VM.

3. Select the time zone.

4. Confirm the Use the VM as an agent VM option is unchecked.

5. Enter the Compute Details.

6. Confirm Legacy BIOS is selected because SEM currently does not use UEFI boot.

   Unless you are an admin, you cannot change the Boot Priority.

7. Add SEM discs. The disk with the SEM’s system is the bootable disk.

   1. Under Type, select DISK.

   2. Under Operation, select Clone from Image Service.

   3. Under Bus Type, select SCSI (SATA works as well)

   4. Under Image, select disk with the SEM system (lem-disk1.vmdk).

8. Click Add and repeat the same process with the other disk.

9. To deploy the VM to a specific Host, select the VM Host Affinity option.

10. Save and wait for the VM to finish being created.

11. Power on the machine and then launch the console to reach the BSOL.
