Add syslog and agent nodes to SEM

You can add syslog and agent nodes to SEM using the SEM Console and the Getting Started wizard.

Add an agent node using the SEM Console

Use the SEM console to download a Linux agent installer. When you are finished

  1. Log in to the SEM Console
  2. In the toolbar, click Configure > Nodes.

  3. In the toolbar, click Add agent node.

  4. Download the required installer(s).

    1. (Remote Windows installation only) Click Windows Remote Agent Installer to download the installer to your system.

    2. Under Local Installation, click the agent installer that matches the operating system running on the targeted device.

      For example, if your targeted device is running Linux, click Linux Agent Installer.

  5. Click Done.

  6. Install the agent on a remote Windows system or a local system.

Install the agent on a local system

  1. Copy the installer to your targeted local system.

  2. Run the installer on the local system.

Add an agent node using the Getting Started wizard

If you are installing SEM, you can add nodes from the Getting Started wizard.

  1. In the Getting Started wizard, click Add Nodes to Monitor.

  2. In the dialog box, click the drop-down menu and select an agent or non-agent node you want to add.

  3. Follow the instructions on your screen to add the monitored node.
