Monitor website performance
- In the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, click Settings > All Settings.
- Add the Intranet web server to the SolarWinds Platform database:
- Click Add Node, and then enter the Hostname or IP Address of the Intranet web server.
- Select the ICMP (Ping only) check box, select the appropriate Polling Engine (if applicable), and then click Next.
- From the Add Application Monitors page, click Next.
- From the Change Properties page, click OK, Add Node.
- Assign the HTTP template to the Intranet web server node:
- From the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, navigate to Settings, then click SAM Settings.
- Click Manually Assign Application Monitors, select Web Server in the Show only list, select HTTP, and then click Next.
- Expand the categories and locate your Intranet web server node, select it, and then click Next.
- Select <New Credential> in the Choose Credential list, type
Intranet Admin
as the Credential Name, then typeadmin
as the User Name. - Type
password
in the Password and Confirm Password fields, then click Test. - Click Assign Application Monitors, then click Done.
Monitor the Corporate Home Page
- Navigate to Settings > All Settings
- Add the corporate web server to the SolarWinds Platform database as an external node.
- Click Add Node, then enter the Hostname or IP Address of the corporate web server.
- Check the External check box, select the appropriate Polling Engine (if applicable), and then click Next.
- Assign the HTTP template to the corporate web server node.
- Select Web Server in the Show only list, then select HTTP.
- Select Inherit credentials from template and then click Test.
- Click Next, then enter the Name for your corporate web server.
- Click OK and then click Add Node.
Troubleshoot the HTTP template
- Click Assign Application Monitors then click Edit.
- Click [+] to expand the HTTP Monitor component then click Override Template next to Use Proxy.
- Check the Use Proxy check box, then click Override Template next to Proxy Address.
- Enter the proxy address in the Proxy Address field using the following syntax:
http://proxyaddress
- Click Test All, Submit, and then click Done.
