Documentation forServer & Application Monitor
Monitoring your applications and environment is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, Server & Application Monitor (SAM). Hybrid Cloud Observability and SAM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

Enable and disable Hyper-V monitoring

Hyper-V monitoring is automatically enabled on WMI nodes after a Network Sonar Discovery is run. For information on enabling WMI, see Test WMI services using WBEMTest.

There are two ways to toggle Hyper-V monitoring; via the Manage Nodes view, and through the Virtualization Summary widget.

Warning: If Hyper-V polling is disabled, all historical data will be lost. To retain historical data, use the Virtualization Summary method and select Unmanage.

You may need to log in with an administrator account to perform this action.

  1. In the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, click Settings > Manage Nodes.
  2. Select the desired node, and then click List Resources.
  3. Check or uncheck Hyper-V, if available.
