Custom Query widget

Use the Custom Query widget to create a custom widget based on a SolarWinds Query Language (SWQL) query. The query provided in this widget is run against your SolarWinds database, and the results are displayed in an appropriate grid.

See also Add a custom chart or table to a web-based report in the SolarWinds Platform.

Configure the Custom Query widget

  1. Click Edit in the Custom Query widget.
  2. Provide an appropriate Title.
  3. Provide an appropriate Subtitle.
  4. Enter your custom SWQL query in the Custom SWQL Query field.

Do not end a custom SWQL query with a comment. Otherwise, you might "comment out" required query clauses automatically appended to a custom query to ensure full widget functionality. For more tips, see Use SolarWinds Query Language (SWQL) in the SolarWinds Platform.

  5. Designate the Number of Rows Per Page in the widget.

If a query returns a large number of objects, you can decrease the load on the SolarWinds Platform server by breaking results into pages. This setting indicates the number of objects the SolarWinds Platform Web Console should display in the widget at any given time.

  6. Click Submit.
