Role-based access control

Administrators can control which individual user accounts or user groups can interact with the AI assistant.

Manage AI assistant permissions

1. Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console with administrator credentials.

2. Click Settings > All Settings > Manage Accounts.

3. Select a user account or group you want to modify, and click Edit.
4. Scroll to the AI Settings section.
5. Configure the Allow AI assistant Access option:

   • Yes: Users can open the AI assistant chat panel and run AI-assisted queries and actions according to their account role permissions.

   • No: The AI assistant chat icon is hidden in the user interface. If the user attempts to access AI endpoints directly, the request is denied.

6. Click Submit to save your changes.

If an account does not have AI access enabled, a notification indicates that the AI assistant is unavailable and directs the user to contact an administrator.
