SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted support of pure IPv6 environments

The following table details support of pure IPv6 environments by SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted and SolarWinds Platform modules 2025.4 and later. All functionality works in mixed IPv4/IPv6 environments.

  • World Maps (an IPv6 to IPv4 tunnel must be set up)
  • Network Atlas
  • NetPath
  • AWS cloud monitoring (AWS does not support IPv6 in some regions)

IP address management

Supported.

The total potential IP addresses in IPv6 is significantly larger than IPv4. Therefore, the percentage of used IP address allocation within an IPv6 subnet will usually show 0%

Log analysis

Supported with exceptions:

  • Certain log rules
NetFlow traffic analysis Supported.
Network configuration management Supported.
Network performance monitoring Supported.
Server and application monitoring

Supported with exceptions:

  • Docker monitoring
