Why create a backup of the SolarWinds Platform database?
This topic applies to all SolarWinds Platform products.
SolarWinds recommends creating a backup of your database before any operation that requires the Installation or Configuration Wizards. These operations include the following:
- Orion product hotfix and service pack updates
- New Orion module installations
- Database migrations or reconfigurations
