Stop and restart services
This topic applies to all SolarWinds Platform products.
Many problems disappear when programs are restarted.
Stopping and restarting appropriate services may eliminate some issues:
- To resolve web page problems, stop and restart Internet Information Service (IIS).
- To resolve problems with polling or data gathering, stop and restart Job Engine or Collector services.
To access the SolarWinds Platform Service Manager in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console:
- Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console as an administrator.
- Click Settings > All Settings.
- Under Product Specific Settings, click Service Manager.
- On the Services tab, select the check box for the service you want to manage.
- Click Start, Stop, or Restart.
To restart SolarWinds services using the stand-alone SolarWinds Platform Service Manager:
- Log in to the SolarWinds Platform server.
- Navigate to the SolarWinds Platform Service Manager via Start > SolarWinds Platform
- Click Shutdown Everything, and then click Start Everything.
For a complete refresh of the system, reboot the computer.
