Monitor AWS Transit Gateways
Get insight into gateway health, utilization, and capacity planning for central network hubs.
Before you begin
- Configure your cloud provider.
- Add a cloud account.
- Ensure your cloud account has appropriate privileges.
- Ensure that the feature monitoring is enabled for the account.
Requirements
Your account needs the following permissions to monitor AWS Transit Gateways.
- ec2:DescribeTransitGateways
- ec2:DescribeTransitGatewayAttachments

Requires a SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted license.
Enable AWS Transit Gateway monitoring for your cloud account
If you configured your cloud account to monitor all supported resources or use tags to define the resources, the feature is enabled automatically. If you selected specific resources, enable the feature manually.

In SolarWinds Platform Web Console, click Settings > Cloud Discovery. This opens the Manage Cloud Accounts page.

Select the account and click Edit Properties. The Edit Cloud Account wizard opens.

Go to the Monitored resources screen, expand Network, and ensure AWS Transit Gateway is selected.

Complete the wizard.
View AWS Transit Gateway details

Click Dashboards > Cloud > AWS to get an overview of monitored AWS resources.

Click the Network tab and review the widgets.
