If you selected Choose a preconfigured application,

    1. Click the radio button of the application you want to add and click Next.
    2. In the Configure Application page, modify the fields you want, and click Next.

If you selected Create a new HTTP application,

    1. In the Configure Application window, enter an application name and description > select Enabled or Disabled > select a Category, Risk Level, and Productivity Rating.
    2. In the URL Filter field, select an operator from the drop-down, and enter search criteria to watch in the URL. Click Next
  4. In the Configure Data Collection page, select the check box of the node(s) you want to collect application traffic and click the right arrow to move them to the Selected Nodes box. Click Next.
  5. In the Summary page, review your selections, and set thresholds. It is recommended that your wait several days before setting thresholds.
    1. To set a threshold, click Thresholds in the left navigation pane.
    2. For a specific threshold, click the Override Orion General Thresholds check box > for the Warning or Critical threshold, select an operator by clicking the drop-down > enter a number (in milliseconds), or click Use Dynamic Baseline Thresholds. Dynamic baseline thresholds are thresholds calculated using baseline data, which allows for more accurate alerting.
  6. Click Finish to add the application.

When you add a new application, it does not appear in any of the resources on the dashboard until data becomes available for the application. This may take up to five minutes.
