Worldwide Map

You can see monitored nodes and groups on a map by a supported provider. Currently, Worldwide map supports only MapQuest.

If monitored devices contain information about their location in the geocode format, they can be added into the Worldwide Map widget automatically.

Change map labels

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Enter the labels into the Title and Subtitle fields.
  3. Click Submit.

The labels you specified will display in the map.

Set the default location, zoom Level, and size

  1. Click Edit.
  2. To customize the size, provide a new value in the Map Height (on the view) box.
  3. To customize the location and zoom level, change the defaults.
    1. Click Set Location and Zoom Level.
    2. In the pop-up window, use your mouse to move the map to the location and the mouse wheel to reach the zoom level.
    3. When you are satisfied with the preview, click Use as Default.

      You can also use longitude and latitude coordinates to specify the default location. Click Advanced and enter the longitude, latitude, and zoom factor into the boxes.

  4. Click Submit to apply your changes.

Once you open the Worldwide Map, it will display the specified location using the specified zoom level and size.

Filter nodes or groups in the map

You can specify whether you want to display nodes, groups, or both.

You can use SWQL filters to further specify what nodes or groups you want to see on the map. See General SWQL guidelines for SolarWinds Platform products.

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Select what should the map show (Groups, Nodes, or both options).
  3. To further specify nodes and groups to be displayed, enter a SWQL filter.
  4. Click Submit.

The map will show only objects defined by the filter.

Specify the location name in the tooltip title

  1. Click a location, and then click Edit in the top-right corner.
  2. Enter the Name of location, and click Save Changes.
  3. The name you specified will now appear in the tooltip title.
