Page Speed test results

View test results for any of your page speed checks to see whether your website is performing as efficiently as possible. You can view all of your page speed checks or drill down into more detailed information for a specific page speed check.

Open any of your page speed checks in the Entity Explorer to view a detailed overview of that page speed check. You can then click the Test Results tab to view all recorded test results for the selected time period.

You can also click Digital Experience > Page Speed and click any page speed check to open Entity Explorer overview for that selection.

View an overview of your website's page speed

On the Entity Explorer overview for your page speed check, there are several widgets that display the check outcome, as well as details regarding your check. The following widgets are visible.

Performance

The Performance widget provides a numerical score between 0 - 100 that displays the average performance of your website's page speed across the selected time period. Scores are color coded based on their grade with Good Scores (90-100) as green, Moderate scores (50-89) as yellow, and Bad scores (1-49) as red. Performance is calculated based on weighted metrics below, such as the First Contentful Paint, Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, and Total Blocking Time.

Requests

The number of requests during the loading of your page.

Page Size

The average size of your website in megabytes (MB) for the selected time period.

First Contentful Paint

The time when the first text or image is painted on the website.

Largest Contentful Paint

The time when the largest text or image is painted on the website.

Cumulative Layout Shift

The sum of all unexpected layout shifts during the page lifecycle.

Total Blocking Time

The total time the main page thread was blocked and prevented user input during page loading.

Latest Test Results

The most recent page speed test results for the selected time period. This widget displays details relevant to the most recent check, including the type, name, path, size and load time per page component.

Review detailed test results

Click the Test Results tab to see the most recent page speed check test results. The Test Results tab displays the details of your page speed check performed by SolarWinds Observability SaaS for the specified time period.

Keep track of your page's load time

The Load time widget displays a line graph of load waiting times for your website across the selected time period. Hover over a dot in the line graph to display a tooltip with the exact load time in milliseconds for the specified time.

Open and review individual test results

The Test Results widget can display up to four page speed check test results per hour. Details about the test including the performance score, time frame, page size, the number of requests, the load time, and the probe location are visible.

Click a test result to open the Test Results window.

The Test Results window displays several widgets and their values during the test execution. Certain widgets, such as Page Size, Performance, First Contentful Paint, Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, and Total Blocking Time are available on the Test Results widget just like on the Overview tab. Here, these widgets display the values for the selected test execution.

The Test Results window includes helpful widgets for the individual test execution:

Content Size by Content Type

This widget displays the content on your page in a bar graph organized by size. Visualize the parts of your website and their values to help understand load sequencing and to identify ways you can optimize performance.

Requests by Content Type

This widget displays the type of number of requests on your page categorized by type. Visualize the requests on your website and their values to help understand load sequencing and to identify ways you can optimize performance.

Requests by Domain

Displays the number of requests per domain for the selected test execution.

Content Size by Domain

Displays the content size in MB per domain for the selected test execution.

Requests

This widget displays all of the requests made during the selected test execution, and details regarding the type, name, path, size, and time of the request. The number of requests is displayed along the widget header. The top 10 requests by size are displayed by default. Click Show all to display all requests.
