Manage Digital Experience checks with bulk actions

Use bulk actions in SolarWinds Observability Digital Experience to update the status of multiple availability checks, page speed checks, or Synthetic transactions at the same time.

Where can I access bulk actions for Digital Experience?

Bulk actions are available on the Availability page (Digital Experience > Availability), Page Speed page (Digital Experience > Page Speed), and Synthetic transaction page (Digital Experience > Synthetic Transactions).

Once you are on the desired check page, you can access the Bulk actions bar.

1. Click one or more checks. Note: You can select up to 50 checks at a time.

2. Select the desired bulk action for your checks.

   

What bulk actions are available?

Currently, you can use bulk actions to Pause or resume monitoring, trigger on demand checks, change test locations, and change test intervals.

Pause or resume monitoring

1. Open the desired checks page (Availability, Page Speed, or Synthetic transactions).

2. Choose one or more checks.

3. Click Pause monitoring to pause the checks. Click Resume monitoring to resume the checks on their previous test intervals.

   The monitoring status shown in the lists and details pages update within a minute.

Update test interval

1. Open the desired checks page (Availability, Page Speed, or Synthetic transactions).

2. Choose one or more checks.

3. Click Update Test Interval.

4. Select the new test interval from the drop-down menu. Click Confirm.

Trigger on demand check

1. Open the desired checks page (Availability, Page Speed, or Synthetic transactions).

2. Choose one or more checks.

3. Click Trigger On-Demand Check.

   The Trigger On-Demand check window displays with the check status.

Update test locations

1. Open the desired checks page (Availability, Page Speed, or Synthetic transactions).

2. Choose one or more checks.

3. Click Update Test Locations.

4. Select the action from the drop-down menu (Add, Remove, or Replace).

   1. Click Add to add locations to the selected checks.

   2. Click Remove to remove locations to the selected checks.

   3. Click Replace to replace the current locations in the check with your new selection.

5. Update test locations for public or private probes.

   1. Public Probes: Select the granularity (regions, countries or cities). Select your options from the drop-down menu. Click Regions, Countries, or Cities. Select the desired option from the drop-down menu.

   2. Private Probes: Click the Private Probe you want to update.

6. Click Confirm.

How do bulk actions impact test results?

Bulk actions run separately for each check. An issue encountered with one check doesn't roll back successful updates to other checks.

The progress view shows the total selected, completed, in progress, failed, and skipped checks. After processing finishes, the result summary explains what happened and why, including cases such as:

• A check already had the requested location

• A check used a different location type (regions, countries or cities)

• Removing a location would leave a check without any valid location

You can close the progress dialog while processing continues. If some checks fail, click Rerun failed to retry only the failed checks.
