Network Forecasting

Network Forecasting provides predictive insights for pre-defined metrics. The feature displays historical and projected metric values using a set of visual charts. You can review forecast widgets in the Entity Explorer on the Forecasts tab on the following views:

  • Network device details
  • Interface details
  • Volume details
  • Network Collector host details
  • Network Collector interface details
  • Network Collector volume details

Projections

On the Forecasts tab, you can select from two projection intervals: 7 Day Projection and 30 Day Projection.

  • 7 Day Projection: Shows forecasts for the next 7 days with a 1-hour data-point interval, using 21 days of historical data.

  • 30 Day Projection: Shows forecasts for the next 30 days with a 1-day data-point interval, using 90 days of historical data.

Forecasted Metrics

SolarWinds Observability SaaS forecasts the following metrics:

  • Network device/Network Collector host

    • Average CPU Utilization: sw.collector.CPULoad.AvgLoad

    • Average Memory Utilization: sw.collector.CPULoad.AvgPercentMemoryUsed

    • Average Response Time: sw.collector.ResponseTime.AvgResponseTime

  • Interface

    • In Percent Utilization Average: sw.collector.InterfaceTraffic.InPercentUtil

    • Out Percent Utilization Average: sw.collector.InterfaceTraffic.OutPercentUtil

  • Volume

    • Percent Disk Used: sw.collector.VolumeUsageHistory.PercentDiskUsed
