Monitor switch stacks
Switch stacks connect multiple physical switches to act as a logical unit to simplify setup and monitoring. In addition to monitoring the performance of the switch as a whole, you can also drill down to the switch level to evaluate the performance and health of the stack. From the Entity Explorer, click the name of the switch stack to open the detail page. Then click the Switch Stack tab to view details about each member of the stack.
The Switch Stack Details widget lists the polling IP address and the stack MAC address. The Switch Stack Members widget displays information about each member of the stack, including:
- The switch name
- The role, such as Master or Standby
- The hardware and software priority
- The model
- The serial number
- RAM and CPU, if applicable
Topology maps show a representation of the physical and logical links that connect the members of the stack, and provide information to help you quickly locate a member with issues. Click a member in the map to display detailed information about it in the right pane.
