Monitor SD-WAN
When you add a network device that is an edge network device (its device type is SD-WAN), the device details view includes an SD-WAN tab with health details and more information on WAN utilization, WAN uplinks, tunnels, and relevant interfaces.
You can add orchestrators and monitor the health, performance, and statistics of SD-WAN orchestrators, wireless controllers, and edge devices.
On Network > Overview, click the SD-WAN tab in the lower part of the screen for an overview of monitored edge devices, orchestrators, tunnels, and WAN uplinks.
- Review the Top Tunnels widgets for an overview of tunnel performance. The widgets show top tunnels by jitter, latency, or packet loss.
- On the Edge Devices tab, expand orchestrators to see a list of related edge devices. Click an edge device to view the edge device details view.
- On the Orchestrators tab, click an orchestrator to go to the orchestrator details view.
View SD-WAN device types in the Entity Explorer
SD-WAN edge devices are network devices with a specific SD-WAN device type. SD-WAN isn't a separate entity type, so you can't select it directly from the entity type drop-down menu.
To display only SD-WAN devices:
-
In SolarWinds Observability SaaS, click Explore to open the Entity Explorer.
-
From the entity type drop-down menu in the upper-left corner, select Network.
-
In the Filters pane, search for
deviceType, and select the device types to display:-
detectedDeviceTypes.Orchestrator: Select to display SD-WAN orchestrators and wireless controllers. -
deviceTypes.SdWanEdge: Select to display SD-WAN edge devices.
-
-
Set the value for the selected device types to true.
The Entity Explorer now lists only the selected device type entities. For more information, see Filter entities in the Entity Explorer documentation.
