Email whitelisting
SolarWinds Observability SaaS allows you to use custom HTML content in email notifications sent to trusted external recipients. To send custom HTML notifications to email addresses that are not verified within your organization, you must first add those addresses to the external email whitelist. Whitelisting allows you to send notifications to external recipients, such as vendors, partners, and distribution lists, without adding them as members of your SolarWinds Observability SaaS organization.
To add an email address to the whitelist, perform the following steps:
-
Go to Settings > Notifications > Whitelist external emails.
-
Add the email address you want to authorize for custom HTML notifications.
-
Save your changes.
Select a whitelisted email address as a recipient
When creating an email notification configuration:
-
Navigate to the Recipients field.
-
Open the recipient dropdown.
-
To add a new external email address, select
+ Whitelist external email address. -
Follow the prompts to add the external email address to the whitelist.
-
Select the email address from the recipient list to include it in your notification configuration.
Once the address is whitelisted and selected as a recipient, you can use it for email notifications containing custom HTML content.
Whitelisting an email address does not grant the recipient access to your SolarWinds Observability SaaS organization. It authorizes the address to receive custom HTML email notifications.
