Managing network configurations is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Advanced edition. Network Configuration Manager (NCM) is also available in a standalone module.

Protocol settings

Use this widget to define the ICMP and SNMP settings that govern NCM behavior in interacting with network devices.

To configure Telnet/SSH settings, choose Settings > All Settings. Then, under Product Specific Settings, click CLI Settings.

ICMP settings

ICMP Packet Timeout

Enter the interval for NCM to wait for acknowledgment of an ICMP packet.

Data portion of ICMP Packet (47 bytes)

Enter the string that is carried in the ICMP packet and might be logged on the network device. For example: Network Configuration Manager Version 7.1

SNMP settings

Click Display Advanced Settings to view all options.

SNMP Packet Timeout

Enter the interval in milliseconds for NCM to wait for a reply to an SNMP request.

SNMP Retries

Enter the number of times NCM should retry an SNMP request.
