Manage Citrix XenApp with Mobile Admin

This section provides information about how to use the Mobile Admin Client to manage Citrix servers (Citrix MetaFrame or Presentation Servers).

All procedures in this chapter assume that you are logged in to Mobile Admin and that you have selected a server that hosts Citrix from the Manage Hosts list, or selected the Citrix service from the Manage Services list.

Detection

Citrix XenApp is detected on a server if the WMI namespace root\\Citrix is found.

Authentication

You can use either your Mobile Admin credentials or credentials set after a Change credentials action to authenticate with Citrix XenApp.

Communication method

Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and the Citrix WMI provider are used for management.

View and manage Citrix sessions

You can manage Citrix sessions with Mobile Admin. The first step in managing Citrix sessions is to access the Citrix screen, which you can do by selecting the Citrix Management Console icon from the Mobile Admin Manage Services screen or from a view of a server reached from the Mobile Admin Manage Hosts screen.

To view active Citrix sessions, select the Sessions icon from a view of the Citrix screen. A screen displaying a list of Citrix sessions will appear.

To view details for an active Citrix session, select the sessions for which you want to view details. Then select Session Information from the menu.

View process information for an active Citrix session

  1. Follow the procedure for viewing active Citrix sessions and select the session for which you would like to view process information.
  2. On the menu, click Session Processes.

Reset a Citrix session

  1. Follow the procedure for viewing active Citrix sessions and select the session that you want to reset.
  2. On the menu, click Reset.

Log off a Citrix session

  1. Follow the procedure for viewing active Citrix sessions and select the session from which you want to log off.
  2. On the menu, click Logoff Session.

Disconnect a Citrix dession

  1. Follow the procedure for viewing active Citrix sessions and select the session from which you want to disconnect.
  2. On the menu, click Disconnect Session.

Terminate user processes

  1. Follow the procedure for viewing active Citrix sessions and select the session that has a user you want to terminate processes for.
  2. On the menu, click Session Processes.
  3. Select the process that you want to terminate.
  4. Click Terminate on the menu.

Sendi a Message to a Citrix user

  1. Follow the procedure for viewing active Citrix sessions and select the session to send a message to.
  2. On the menu, click Send Message.
  3. In the Message field, type your message.
  4. Click Send on the menu or the Send Message screen.

View Citrix licenses and usage information

  1. From the Citrix Management Console screen, select the Licenses icon.
  2. Select the license pool for which you want to view details.
  3. Select License Details from the menu.
  4. Select the license you want to view more details for.
