Documentation forIP Address Manager
Managing IP addresses is a key capability of Hybrid Cloud Observability and is also available in a standalone module, IP Address Manager (IPAM). Hybrid Cloud Observability and IPAM are built on the self-hosted SolarWinds Platform.

What does status mean?

SolarWinds IPAM Address system statuses consist of:

Available

All addresses in defined groups, subnets, and supernets are, by default, considered Available unless they are typically reserved, as in the case of the network and broadcast addresses, or until they are otherwise assigned.

Reserved

Typically, in subnets defined to contain more than two IP addresses, the smallest address—the network address—identifies the subnet to the rest of the network. The largest address—the broadcast address—is used to communicate to all addresses within the subnet. Both addresses are considered to be Reserved for a defined subnet.

Transient

Addresses that are dynamically assigned to devices that may power on and off regularly or that may enter and exit the network frequently.

Transient scan intervals can be configured on a per subnet basis from the Edit Subnet window.

Used

Addresses currently assigned to a monitored device and not otherwise available.

Check the box and set the availability status for the selected IP addresses.
