Telnet/SSH tool
The Telnet/SSH tool in ETS for the Desktop is a terminal emulation client for interacting and communicating with network devices.
Open the Telnet/SSH tool

To launch the tool from the Toolset Launch Pad, locate the Telnet/SSH tool and click Launch.

You can also add the tool to a tab in the Workspace Studio, and access it from there.
Connect to a device

Specify an IP address or a host name

Select the protocol: Telnet or SSH2.

Choose one of the following options to specify the credentials to use to connect to the device:

To use the Telnet/SSH credentials specified in the device properties, select Use the assigned credential.
You can view or manage device properties in the Workspace Studio.

Click Select a known credential, and then select the credential from the drop-down menu.

Click Manually enter a credential, and then enter the user name and password.

Click Connect.
Update settings

Click Settings.

To change the dialog box heading text, update the Title and Subtitle fields.

Click the Terminal tab.

To change how the text looks:

Click the Change button next to Font.

Specify any of the following options:
- The font
- The font style (for example, italic or bold)
- The font size
- Effects such as underline or strikeout
- The font color
- Click OK.

To change the background color of the terminal window:

Click the Change button next to Background color.

Select an option under Basic colors. Or define a custom color and select it.

Click OK.

Click OK to save your changes.
