Port Scanner tool
The Port Scanner tool in ETS for the Desktop remotely discovers the status of TCP ports on devices. You can specify a range of IP addresses to include in the scan, and then scan a Quick List of port numbers or manually select the ports from a list that includes their common purposes.
Open the Port Scanner tool

To launch the tool from the Toolset Launch Pad, locate the Port Scanner tool and click Launch.

You can add the tool to a tab in the Workspace Studio, and access it from there.

To launch the tool from the Windows Start menu:

Click Start > All > SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset.

Right-click Port Scanner, click More, and click Run as administrator.

Scan ports
-
Enter a comma-delimited list of IP addresses to scan. You can enter a range using dashes, you can use wildcards (* and ?), and you can use subnet identifiers.
Examples:
192.168.1.1-192.168.1.2552002::?1192.168.1.1/2410.1.1.1,10.2.2.2/30,1.10.21.*1,1.1.1.1-1.1.1.10 -
To use a file, click Load, browse to the file you want to import, and then click Open.

Follow the instructions to complete the import process.
Enter port lists separated by commas for individual ports or separated by hyphens to cover a range of values.

To select ports from a list which includes common port definitions, complete the following procedure:

Click Settings.

Select the ports you want to scan in the Available Ports list.

To redefine or add a new port, enter the port and a description in the Add New Port window grouping, and then click Add New.

To delete a port, select the port, and then click Delete selected.

To change the sort order, or filter the window to show only those ports already selected, select the field.

Click OK.

Click Scan.
Export, print, and copy scan results
After you perform a port scan, you can transfer the scan results to other tools through exporting and copy and paste capabilities. You can also print the discovered information.
To export scan results:

Click File > Export, and then select the type of export.

Select the information to export.

Name the path for the exported information.
To copy scan results, click Edit > Copy, and then specify whether to copy the entire result set or a selected value to the clipboard.
To print scan results, click File > Print, and then select the information to print.
Modify Port Scanner settings
Some settings are configurable within the Port Scanner tool.

Click File > Settings.

Click the Ports to Scan tab, and then specify the ports you want to scan.

Click the Application Scanners tab, and then select the type of scanners you want to use.

Click the Display Settings tab, and then select the options you want to enable.

Click the Time & Performance tab, and then specify the settings.
Timeout and scan spacing can be set low (fast) for LANs and newer computers. If you receive numerous
No Replymessages, consider increasing these settings. -
Click the Grid Settings tab, and then specify the options you want to enable.

Click the Options tab, and then specify the default network adapters.
Rescan the ports on a specific address

Right-click an individual IP address, and then select one of the following options:

Set to Rescan This Address (same ports): Sets the starting and ending IP address range to the current address without modifying port selections.

Set to Rescan This Address (all ports): Sets the starting and ending IP address range to the current address and activates the Quick List option with all ports specified.

Click Scan to start the port scan.
