CPU Gauges tool

The CPU Gauges tool in ETS for the Desktop monitors CPU load on routers, switches, and Windows 2000 and later computers. The CPU Gauges tool uses SNMP to communicate with the remote device, displaying the received results in a graphical gauge.

Open the CPU Gauges tool

  • To launch the tool from the Toolset Launch Pad, locate the CPU Gauges tool and click Launch.

  • You can add the tool to a tab in the Workspace Studio, and access it from there.

  • To launch the tool from the Windows Start menu:

    1. Click Start > All > SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset.

    2. Right-click CPU Gauge, click More, and click Run as administrator.

Monitor a device

  1. Click the button in the upper-right corner of the tool.

  2. Click Setup Gauge.

  3. Provide the IP address and the read or read and write community string for the device.

  4. Click OK.

  • Ensure your access list does not block SNMP queries.
  • Ensure you use a valid read or read-write community string.

Load a gauge

  1. Click the button in the upper-right corner of the tool.

  2. Click Load Gauge.

  3. Select the gauge to load, and then click Open.

CPU Gauges skins

  1. Click the five vertical lines next to the title of the tool.

  2. Select the new skin.
