Migrate Engineer's Toolset for the Desktop

To migrate ETS for the Desktop from one server to another, complete the following steps.

1. Deactivate the ETS for the Desktop license on the original server.

   1. If necessary, install the SolarWinds License Manager on the original server.

      For information about downloading and installing the License Manager, see the License Manager documentation.

   2. Start the License Manager, select ETS for the Desktop, and click Deactivate.

2. Install ETS for the Desktop on the new server.

3. During the installation process, enter your license information.

4. Copy the following files from the original server to the same location on the new server:

   • C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\*.mdb
   • C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\*.cfg
   • C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\*.xml
   • C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Toolset\*.cfg
   • C:\users\UserName\AppData\Local\SolarWinds\Dashboard\*.*

5. Start ETS for the Desktop and open some tools to make sure everything has been migrated correctly.

6. Uninstall ETS for the Desktop from the original server.
