Apply a license key for Engineer's Toolset for the Desktop

To continue using ETS for the Desktop after the evaluation period, apply a license key. If the ETS for the Desktop server is connected to the internet, you can activate the license online. If not, you must activate the license offline.

Online activation

  1. Get the license key from the Customer Portal:

    1. In the Customer Portal, select Licenses > Manage Licenses.

    2. Expand Engineer's Toolset.

    3. Copy the license key under Engineer's Toolset for Desktop.

  2. Open the Start menu on the computer where Engineer's Toolset for the Desktop is installed, and expand SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset.

  3. Click Enter Licensing Information, and then click the Enter Licensing Information button in the popup dialog box.

  4. Follow the instructions in the Activate Toolset wizard to enter your license key.

Offline activation

  1. Click I want to activate my license through the Customer Portal.

    2. If you do not know your SolarWinds Customer ID and password or individual profile details, contact Customer Support and submit a ticket.

  2. Follow the steps in the Activate Toolset window to complete the registration.
