Dameware Install or Upgrade Guides
SolarWinds strongly recommends that you install Dameware on a server that is neither public, nor internet-facing. To learn about best practices for configuring your Dameware installation securely, see Best practices to secure SolarWinds Products.
Dameware is comprised of two key products—Dameware Remote Support (DRS) and Dameware Mini Remote Control (MRC), and these are available in a stand-alone version or a centralized version.
The centralized version of Dameware offers the Dameware Central Server, which you can use to manage Dameware licenses, Global Host Lists, and Dameware users. Dameware Remote Support centralized also enables you to initiate Internet Sessions to support remote end users outside of your network.
The stand-alone version of Dameware does not include the Central Server and does not support Internet Sessions with remote end users outside of your network.
Below is a guide for upgrading Dameware as well as installation guides for both the centralized Dameware and the stand-alone Dameware products.
