OLV installation scenarios

Standard Installation: If you have Microsoft SQL 2016 SP1 or newer, OLV installs by default.
Lightweight Installation: This option automatically installs OLV.

This Orion Platform topic applies only to the following products:

NCM — NPM — SAM — UDT — VMAN

The following table addresses a variety of Orion Log Viewer (OLV) add-on installation scenarios applicable to select Orion Platform products.

NPM, NCM, SAM, UDT, VMAN*	Standard Installation: If you have Microsoft SQL 2016 SP1 or newer, OLV installs by default. Lightweight Installation: This option automatically installs OLV.	If the SQL condition is not met (e.g., SQL 2014 is detected), the add-on screen is skipped and OLV is not installed. If the SQL condition is met, but legacy syslogs, traps, and custom rules are detected in the database, you can choose to install OLV or decline (legacy syslog, trap, and alert data are not migrated to the new database). If the SQL condition is met and no legacy syslogs, traps, or custom rules are detected in the database, you can choose to install OLV or decline.
Other Orion Platform products	OLV is not an installation option	Same as the new installation scenario, unless you select additional products (e.g., NPM) during upgrade.
