View logs and events with the Log Viewer
This topic applies only to the following products:
NCM — NPM — SAM — UDT — VMAN
The Log Viewer provides a singular view into event messages received from nodes monitored by your SolarWinds Platform products. You can access your syslog and trap messages, monitor VMware events, filter and search event logs, integrate SolarWinds Platform alerts, and more. To access the Log Viewer in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console, navigate to Alerts & Activity > Syslogs (or Traps).*
- Upon installation, the Log Viewer replaces the legacy Syslog and Trap Viewers, existing syslog and traps messages are only available in the database and you cannot access them via user interface.
-
The Log Viewer requires Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP1 or higher (Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instance are also supported).
