About the monitors
A monitor watches a specific aspect of a device, service, or process and collects a unit of information from that component using a background process. Monitors allow you to test a target resource using a predetermined time interval (such as every five minutes).
For example, you can implement monitors that determine how much RAM is available on a server (Device Memory Utilization), the percentage of CPU cycles devoted to current processes (Device CPU Utilization), or the amount of space available on a server hard drive (Device Disk Utilization). You can associate several monitors to one device based on your needs.
ipMonitor is licensed based on the number of monitors used in your deployment. Depending on your ipMonitor license tier, you can apply up to 2500 monitors to the devices in your network. Your license tier can include 500, 1,000, or 2,500 monitors. Contact Customer Sales for details.
SolarWinds ipMonitor includes several monitor types that monitor several categories such as user experience, hardware health, and network infrastructure.
