AWS Direct Connect links your internal network to an AWS Direct Connect location over a standard Ethernet fiber-optic cable.
If you haven't already, first set up the AWS CloudWatch integration. No additional steps are needed for installation.
On the AWS CloudWatch integration page, ensure that the Direct Connect service is selected for metric collection.
|ConnectionState||The state of the connection. 0 indicates DOWN and 1 indicates UP|
|ConnectionBpsEgress||The bit rate for outbound data from the AWS side of the connection|

|ConnectionLightLevelTx||Indicates the health of the fiber connection for egress (outbound) traffic from the AWS side of the connection|
|ConnectionLightLevelRx||Indicates the health of the fiber connection for ingress (inbound) traffic to the AWS side of the connection|
|connectionid||This dimension filters the data by the AWS Direct Connect connection|
|awsaccount||AWS account associated with the metrics|
