New features and improvements in UDT 3.4
UDT 3.4 offers new features and improvements compared to previous releases of UDT.
Advanced automatic import options
SolarWinds UDT 3.4 now allows you to select UDT monitored port types during automatic discovery. You have the ability to adjust the automatic import of UDT discovery results according to your needs, using Port Status, Port Mode, Hardware type, or other advanced filtering options, including regular expressions.
Support for Nexus devices
As of version 3.4, SolarWinds User Device Tracker supports CLI polling on Nexus devices. After you add a Nexus device to SolarWinds UDT and enable CLI polling, UDT will display Layer2 and Layer3 data on the Node Details page. You can also enable CLI polling for an existing Nexus device through Edit Node on the Node Details page.
Support for Palo Alto devices
Starting with UDT 3.4, you can add Palo Alto devices to SolarWinds UDT and enable CLI polling. Layer2 and Layer3 data will be displayed on the Node Details page. You can also enable CLI polling for an existing Palo Alto device through Edit Node on the Node Details page.
Other improvements
For new features and improvements in Orion Platform 2019.2, see the Orion Platform 2019.2 Release Notes.
New customer installation
For information about installing User Device Tracker, see the SolarWinds Orion Installer.
How to upgrade
Use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to upgrade your entire Orion deployment (all Orion Platform products and any scalability engines) to the current versions.
If you are upgrading from UDT 3.4 or later, you can upgrade your entire Orion deployment from the My Orion Deployment page. Downloading the Orion Installer is no longer necessary.
If you are upgrading from an earlier version, use this topic to plan and implement an upgrade to the current version of UDT.
