User Device Tracker 3.4 Release Notes

New features and improvements in UDT 3.4

UDT 3.4 offers new features and improvements compared to previous releases of UDT.

Advanced automatic import options

SolarWinds UDT 3.4 now allows you to select UDT monitored port types during automatic discovery. You have the ability to adjust the automatic import of UDT discovery results according to your needs, using Port Status, Port Mode, Hardware type, or other advanced filtering options, including regular expressions.

Support for Nexus devices

As of version 3.4, SolarWinds User Device Tracker supports CLI polling on Nexus devices. After you add a Nexus device to SolarWinds UDT and enable CLI polling, UDT will display Layer2 and Layer3 data on the Node Details page. You can also enable CLI polling for an existing Nexus device through Edit Node on the Node Details page.

Support for Palo Alto devices

Starting with UDT 3.4, you can add Palo Alto devices to SolarWinds UDT and enable CLI polling. Layer2 and Layer3 data will be displayed on the Node Details page. You can also enable CLI polling for an existing Palo Alto device through Edit Node on the Node Details page.

How to upgrade

If you are upgrading from UDT 3.2.3 or later, use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to upgrade one or more Orion Platform products simultaneously.

If you are upgrade from an earlier version, use the following resources to plan and implement an upgrade to UDT 3.2.3. Then use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to complete the upgrade.

  • If you are upgrading UDT and other modules (SAM, NCM, NTA, etc.), use the multiple products upgrade guide.
  • If you are upgrading UDT as a stand-alone product, use the single product upgrade guide.

December 4, 2018:

End-of-Life (EoL) announcement - Customers on UDT versions 3.2 or older should begin transitioning to UDT 3.3.2.

March 4, 2019:

End-of-Engineering (EoE) - Service Releases, bug fixes, workaround, and service packs for UDT version 3.2 or older will no longer be actively supported by SolarWinds.

March 4, 2020:

End-of-Life (EoL) - SolarWinds will no longer provide technical support for UDT version 3.2 or older.
