Sounds and Notifications

Sounds and Notifications can be configured for pre-defined events that occur within FTP Voyager. Each event is listed within a table with four columns:

  1. Event Column
  2. Sound Column
  3. Pop-up Column
  4. Email Column

You must override the setting below to begin using the Sounds and Notifications page for this site profile:

Use Global Settings

Select Use these settings to override the settings that are defined in the Sounds and Notifications category within the Options dialog.

The table consists of these events:

Login Succeeded A notification can be configured when FTP Voyager successfully logs into a remote server.
Login Failed A notification can be configured when FTP Voyager fails to log into a remote server.
Transfer Operation Succeeded A notification can be configured when a successful file transfer operation has occurred.
Transfer Operation Failed A notification can be configured when a failed file transfer operation has occurred.
Transfer Group Complete A notification can be configured when a transfer group has been processed. A transfer group is any collection of file transfer operations that were started together. This includes synchronization operations, transferring multiple selected files together, and transferring entire directories.
File Exists A notification can be configured when a file transfer operation has encountered a file that already exists.
Disconnect A notification can be configured when a Remote Browser has been disconnected from its remote server.
Queue Finished A notification can be configured when all file transfer items within the Transfer Queue Pane have been processed.

When an event is selected, the "Sound", "Show Pop-up", and "Send Email Notification" controls located at the bottom of the page are filled in with that event's settings. Changing the settings from these controls will update the columns within the event table. These controls are described below:

Sound A sound (.WAV) file can be played when the event occurs. Select the file by browsing your local file system.
Show Pop-up A pop-up notification is displayed within FTP Voyager when the event occurs.
Send Email Notification An email is sent when the event occurs. Note: In order to send email, please see Email Settings within the Options dialog for more information..
