Edit Tab Overview
The Edit tab contains commands used to handle file and folder management as well as specialized file selection and comparison, making managing large datasets much simpler.
The Edit tab consists of 3 groups:
Clipboard

Cut |
Cuts the currently selected file(s) and/or folder(s) from its current location in preparation to move it to a new location with the Paste command. The selected file(s) and/or folder(s) are then removed from their parent directory, once they have been pasted. |

Copy |
Copies the currently selected file(s) and/or folder(s) in preparation to paste it to a new location with the Paste command. The selected file(s) and/or folder(s) are not affected once they have been pasted. |

Paste |
Used in conjunction with Cut and Copy to place the file(s) and/or folder(s) into the target directory. If a Cut operation was initiated, then the source file(s) and/or folder(s) are removed from their parent directory. |
Select

Select All |
Selects all files and folders within the active file browser. |

Select by Type |
Selects all files, within the active file browser, which match common file extensions provided by the drop-down list. |

Select Wildcard |
Selects all folders and files, within the active file browser, which match a user-specified filter (e.g., "*.html" or "*.mp3"). |

Invert Selection |
Inverts the current selection in the active browser. Unselects all files and/or folders that are currently selected, and selects all files and folders that are not currently selected. |
Match

Compare Folders |
Compares TWO side-by-side file browsers, highlighting differences between them. Each highlight color has a different meaning. By default, the highlight colors are: Green: Files and Folders that are identical. Blue: Files and Folders that do not exist within the other browser. Red: Files and Folders that share a name but are different in some way (e.g., modification time or file size). Select Same |
Based on compare folders, this option selects the files that have the same name, file size, and timestamps within the active file browser. |

Select Different |
Based on compare folders, this option selects the files that have different names, file sizes, and/or timestamps within the active file browser. |

Select Orphans |
Based on compare folders, this option selects the files (within the active file browser) that do not exist in the other file browser. |
