NPM 2020.2.6 Release Notes

NPM 2020.2.6 is a service release, and runs on Orion Platform 2020.2.6. See Orion Platform 2020.2.6 Release Notes.

If you are using the legacy Syslog and Traps function, note that it will be removed and replaced by Orion Log Viewer in a future release likely to occur in 2022.

Orion Platform 2020.2.6 includes updated password policies that impact individual Orion accounts. After you upgrade to 2020.2.6, all passwords for individual Orion accounts will expire in 30 days.

For information about installing Network Performance Monitor, see help for the SolarWinds Orion Installer.

Use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to upgrade your entire Orion deployment (all Orion Platform products and any scalability engines).

If you are upgrading from NPM 12.5 or later, you can upgrade your entire Orion deployment from the My Orion Deployment page (Settings > My Orion Deployment). Downloading the Orion Installer is no longer necessary.

791049, 814657 The issue where special characters are interpreted incorrectly in Nodes with problems widget was addressed.
773571 The issue where incorrect IPs were stored in a routing neighbor table (NPM_RoutingNeighbor) was addressed.
761997 The issue where CRC align errors were reported on an incorrect interface was addressed.
748590 The support for Switch Virtual Interfaces on Nexus vPCs was added.
750233 (waiting on Support) The issue where ASA CLI show clock detail command was causing false-positive ASA failover alerts was addressed.

End of life

Version EOL Announcements EOE Effective Dates EOL Effective Dates
12.3 August 25, 2020: End-of-Life (EoL) announcement – Customers on NPM version 12.3 should begin transitioning to the latest version of NPM. November 25, 2020: End-of-Engineering (EoE) – Service releases, bug fixes, workarounds, and service packs for NPM version 12.3 will no longer be actively supported by SolarWinds. November 25, 2021: End-of-Life (EoL) – SolarWinds will no longer provide technical support for NPM version 12.3.

Deprecation notices

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features. Customizations applied to a deprecated feature might not be migrated if a new feature replaces the deprecated one.
