Installation and upgrade

For information about installing Network Performance Monitor, see help for the SolarWinds Orion Installer.

Use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to upgrade your entire Orion deployment (all Orion Platform products and any scalability engines).

You can upgrade your entire Orion deployment from the My Orion Deployment page (Settings > My Orion Deployment). Downloading the Orion Installer is no longer necessary.

201649, 555632 CLI credential issues were addressed. After removing CLI credentials, CLI polling stops working.
451182, 573130, 588154, 595576, 602580, 621191, Triggering obsolete Failover on ASA firewall alerts was addressed.
472431, 607798, 640742, 648459 The issue where importing wireless poller results stopped wireless node polling until you restarted the Collector Service was addressed.

12.3 August 25, 2020: End-of-Life (EoL) announcement – Customers on NPM version 12.3 should begin transitioning to the latest version of NPM. November 25, 2020: End-of-Engineering (EoE) – Service releases, bug fixes, workarounds, and service packs for NPM version 12.3 will no longer be actively supported by SolarWinds. November 25, 2021: End-of-Life (EoL) – SolarWinds will no longer provide technical support for NPM version 12.3.

Deprecation notices

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features. Customizations applied to a deprecated feature might not be migrated if a new feature replaces the deprecated one.
