Monitoring network performance is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Essentials edition. Network Performance Monitor (NPM) is also available in a standalone module.

Overview

The Overview widget lists UCS devices detected in your environment, with blades listed beneath their parent chassis.

For each fabric interconnect, chassis, blade, and rack server, the widget provides the following information:

  • Device Name
  • Currently measured Response Time
  • Currently measured Percent Loss
  • Currently reported operational Status

Available actions

  • Double-click a device to open its Node Details page. If a device is not yet monitored, a "Do you want to manage device with Orion" prompt appears. Click OK to open the Add Node wizard where the device IP address is automatically populated.
  • Click a chassis to open its Chassis Details page.
  • Click a fabric interconnect, blade, or rack server name to open its Node Details page.

    If a blade is not yet being monitored in the SolarWinds Platform, a prompt asks if you want to manage the blade. Click OK to Add Node wizard, where the IP address of the blade will be auto-filled.

  • Click Edit to change the title or subtitle of the widget.
