Install Kiwi Syslog Server NG
This section describes how to prepare the server environment and install Kiwi Syslog Server NG.
Kiwi Syslog Server NG is separate from the legacy Kiwi Syslog Server. If you installed the legacy version of Kiwi Syslog Server, you must uninstall it before installing Kiwi Syslog Server NG. Legacy Kiwi Syslog Server and Kiwi Syslog Server NG cannot be installed on the same machine due to using the same port numbers.
Prepare the server to install Kiwi Syslog Server NG

Review system requirements |
Verify that the server meets the minimum hardware and software requirements. |

Run all Windows updates | Check for and run all Microsoft Windows Updates on the server. If a Windows update runs, your system might reboot. | |
Open ports |
Verify that the server's firewall allows traffic to pass through the required ports for Kiwi Syslog Server NG. |
Installation steps for Kiwi Syslog Server NG
Download the installation file |
Complete the following steps for new and existing users:

Run the installation file |

Complete the Kiwi Syslog Server Setup wizard |

Close the wizard. |
In the Installation Complete window, click Close to complete the installation. |
Perform a silent installation of Kiwi Syslog Server NG
Verify the installation file. | Check that the KiwiSyslogServerNG_<version>.exe . installation file has been downloaded to perform the silent install of Kiwi Syslog Server NG. |

To silently uninstall Kiwi Syslog Server NG, run the command fileName.exe /q /uninstall
.
Log files for install and uninstall data
After you have completed the install or uninstall process in the command line, use the command /log logfilename.txt
to log the data. Logging your install and uninstall processes allows you to view all parameters provided in the command line.
