Orphaned Objects group

The Orphaned Objects system group serves as a temporary container for monitors and groups that do not have valid parent objects. Monitors and groups can become orphans when they are imported into ipMonitor with missing or invalid XML data.

Access the group

1. Log in to the ipMonitor Web Console as an administrator.

2. Click Devices.

3. In the Groups menu, expand My Network and click Orphaned Objects.

Assign an orphaned monitor to an existing device or group

1. Log in to the ipMonitor Web Console as an administrator.
2. Click Devices.
3. Using the Groups navigation pane, locate and select the orphaned monitor.
4. Click Move in the toolbar.

5. Select a device from the Destination Device or Group list, and then click Continue.

   The monitor is moved and assigned to the destination device or group.
