Managing IP addresses is a key capability of SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (formerly Hybrid Cloud Observability) and is available in the Essentials edition. IP Address Manager (IPAM) is also available in a standalone module.

These release notes describe the new features, improvements, and fixed issues in IP Address Manager 2023.1. They also provide information about upgrades and describe workarounds for known issues.

New features and improvements in IPAM

IPAM 2023.1 is built on the SolarWinds Platform and installed with the SolarWinds Installer.

Other improvements

Cloud monitoring: Availability Zone data related to the entities you are monitoring in the cloud are now stored with the entity and used for logical grouping in the Cloud Server Infrastructure widget, filtering in the Cloud Instances Status Summary widget, and also in pop overs for individual entities.

Installation and upgrade

If you are on a version earlier than IPAM 2020.2.6, first upgrade to 2020.2.6 and then upgrade to 2023.1. Before upgrading, see Considerations for upgrading from the Orion Platform to the SolarWinds Platform.

Use the SolarWinds Installer to upgrade your entire IPAM deployment (all IPAM products and any scalability engines).

Fixed issues

IP Address Manager 2023.1 fixes the following issues.

1242018 The issue where no option was found for ETableOrFunction SIM_TABLENAME_PROPS was addressed.
512228 The issue where wrong EngineId was assigned to subnets during import was addressed.

End of life

For modules based on IPAM 2020.2.6 and earlier, SolarWinds is announcing future end-of-life plans for your convenience. As always, SolarWinds recommends you upgrade to the latest version of your products at your earliest convenience.

This version of IP Address Manager deprecates the following platforms and features.

Deprecated platforms and features are still supported in the current release. However, they will be unsupported in a future release. Plan on upgrading deprecated platforms, and avoid using deprecated features.

Browser support All versions of Internet Explorer will become unsupported in a future release. Some pages are not compatible with IE 11. Do not enable Enterprise Mode in IE 11. It is not supported.
