Introduction to Engineer's Toolset for the Web
SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset for the Web (ETS for the Web) runs on the SolarWinds Platform. ETS for the Web is a set of tools that networking professionals can use to monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues. You can view monitored statistics for individual devices not only in tables, but also as interactive charts that display only the metrics you want to see.
Start using the tools
Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console. The SolarWinds Platform Web Console is the web-based front end where you use ETS for the Web tools. To navigate to the Toolset dashboard, click My Dashboards > Toolset > All Tools.
See ETS for the Web tools for descriptions of the tools and links to instructions for using them.
-
Monitored statistics are saved only as long as you keep a monitor running for an object. After you close a tool, all history records are lost.
-
You can keep a maximum of three ETS for the Web tools running at the same time.
The difference between Engineer's Toolset for the Web and Engineer's Toolset for the Desktop
In addition to Engineer's Toolset for the Web, SolarWinds also offers a second version: Engineer's Toolset for the Desktop. While Engineer's Toolset for the Web is a SolarWinds Platform product, ETS for the Desktop is a standalone application that can be installed on a network engineer's workstation.
The two versions of Engineer's Toolset are fundamentally different, with different requirements and different functionality. They do not depend on each other or interact.
Purchasing Engineer's Toolset gives you full licensed access to both Engineer's Toolset for the Web and Engineer's Toolset for the Desktop. If you're evaluating Engineer's Toolset, you can use both versions without restriction during the 14-day evaluation period.
