New features and improvements in EOC
Read this section for descriptions of the new features and improvements EOC offers in this release, or compare it with previous releases of EOC.
Configure tile refresh period
In EOC 2.1.1, you now can configure tiles to automatically refresh after a specified time interval in seconds. From the new Web Console Settings page, located under EOC settings, you can define the refresh interval for tiles from a minimum value of 5 seconds up to a maximum value of 3600 seconds.
New customer installation
For information about installing Enterprise Operations Console see the SolarWinds Orion Installer. After installation, review the EOC Getting Started Guide to begin using EOC.
Before you upgrade!
As of the release of EOC 2.0, the Enterprise Operations Console has been rebuilt to run on the Orion Platform. If you are running EOC 2.0, you can upgrade to EOC 2.1 using the same server.
Note: The organization of custom tiles in EOC 2.0 is not preserved when upgrading to 2.1.
Due to this rebuild, users of versions prior to EOC 2.0 must install EOC to 2.1 on a separate server. To begin using the new features, simply install EOC 2.1 on a different server from your current EOC edition.
How to upgrade
If you are upgrading from EOC 2.0 or later, use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to upgrade one or more Orion Platform products simultaneously.
If you are upgrading from an earlier version prior to 2.0, use the legacy product upgrade guide to plan and implement an upgrade to EOC 2.0. Then use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to complete the upgrade.
