New features and improvements in EOC
EOC 2.0 offers new features and improvements compared to previous releases of EOC.
Improved data collection
Previous versions of EOC polled remote Orion servers at regular intervals, retrieving large sets of data during each polling period. The data displayed in EOC was frequently not current, resulting in delayed status updates and alert notifications.
EOC 2.0 leverages a function called SWIS Federation to query for specific data only when needed, and return the aggregated results to EOC. This improved data collection method allows EOC to display live, on-demand data from all monitored SolarWinds Sites.
Orion interface and functionality
EOC 2.0 is built on the same framework as other members of the Orion product suite. This provides:
- An improved UI, with familiar navigation, icons, and controls.
- Access to Orion features such as High Availability and the ability to implement Additional Web Servers.
Status rollup
The new Enterprise Environment Summary view displays consolidated data from all monitored SolarWinds Sites. Use this view to quickly identify potential issues, and then drill through for more detailed information.
- Status tiles on the Environment Summary view provide high-level status information about a group of monitored entities. You can create custom tiles to display the information most important to you.
- When you identify a potential issue, click a status icon or number to display a filtered list of entities in the Asset Explorer. From there, you can click through to the remote SolarWinds Site for details.
Alert acknowledgment
EOC displays active alerts from all SolarWinds Sites. You can acknowledge an alert from EOC and add notes. The acknowledgement and notes are passed to the SolarWinds Site where the alert was triggered.
Global reporting
Use EOC to create and customize reports that show information from multiple SolarWinds Sites. When you create or edit a report, you can specify which sites you want to include. You can also import reports from SolarWinds Sites.
Data that was displayed in resources in previous versions of EOC is available in EOC 2.0 reports.
Map options
Import maps from SolarWinds Sites to display status information in EOC NOC view. Use the Orion Worldwide Map resource to display consolidated information from multiple SolarWinds Sites.
Data from multiple sites in PerfStack™
Perform advanced analysis by pulling data from multiple SolarWinds Sites into a single Performance Analysis (PerfStack) dashboard.
Implementation for existing customers
EOC 2.0 has been rebuilt to run on the Orion Platform. For this reason, you cannot upgrade from a previous version to EOC 2.0. To begin using the new features, simply install EOC 2.0 on a different server. For more information, see SolarWinds Orion Installer for EOC.

Using the browser's Back button to return to the Enterprise Environment Summary |
