Access Rights Manager 9.1 features

New look and feel

8MAN is now part of the SolarWinds family, so existing 8MAN customers will see some changes to the GUI, including a new login window and a new loading indicator. Other improvements:

  • The column width and order of the table views in the rich client is now saved.
  • You can now add an image, to be displayed next to the comment field.

Changes to licensing

Existing customers will not see any immediate changes, but will use a new licensing model to upgrade to newer versions. New customers will use the SolarWinds customer portal to download and install ARM.

SQL Express integration

When installing ARM, you can also choose to install SQL Express.

SAP integration

With SAP integration, you can now search for security-critical transaction codes and identify authorization paths.

Azure AD integration

You can now identify and manage users and groups in Azure AD. In addition to displaying roles and identifying their group memberships, ARM for Azure also enables users and groups to be created or deleted, and group memberships to be changed.

OneDrive integration

Look at all shared directories and files in a single view.

Application integration

Automates the exchange between a third-party system and a system administered with ARM.

User provisioning

Administrators can now make scripts directly available to employees so recurring processes can be executed immediately and without an order workflow.

Security monitoring

Improved security monitoring allows you to now filter recorded events by black- and white-list and record failed actions.

Permission analysis

Use account mapping to define assignments between AD accounts and accounts from external resource systems. ARM then shows you which different accounts belong to a single person.

Grouping and filtering of Analyze & Act

To select scenarios most quickly, ARM 9.1 now offers grouping and filtering.

For additional information on using these new features, see the ARM 9.1 Extended Release Notes.

New customer installation

Installing ARM onto a server that has an Orion Platform installation will cause a conflict with the RabbitMQ service. To avoid this, ARM and Orion Platform products must be installed on separate servers. Note that ARM is not an Orion Platform product.

For information about installing Access Rights Manager see the ARM Installation Guide.

See the End of Life Policy for information about SolarWinds product life cycle phases. To see EoL dates for earlier ARM versions, see ARM release history.
